The Shenzhen International Quantum Academy (IQASZ) located in the Hetao Shenzhen-Hong Kong Science and Technology Innovation Cooperation Zone, Futian District, Shenzhen, has grown into a key southern pillar of China's national quantum technology strategic force based on Shenzhen's first batch of ten fundamental research institutions.
IQASZ closely focuses on national strategic needs and international frontiers in quantum technology, combining Shenzhen's research characteristics in quantum technology with regional economic and social development demands. By uniting and gathering the superior quantum technology forces from the Guangdong-Hong Kong-Macao Greater Bay Area and internationally, IQASZ actively promotes the recruitment, reserve, and cultivation of high-level talents. Through global open recruitment, IQASZ has attracted a group of outstanding international and young research talents. Currently, the institute's staff exceeds 500 people.
IQASZ is committed to building a world-class research and industrial transformation platform. Focusing on four major research directions - Quantum State and Quantum Devices, Quantum Computing, Quantum Sensing and Quantum Engineering Application - IQASZ has established first-class research platforms including superconducting quantum computing platform, silicon quantum dot quantum computing platform, ion trap quantum computing platform, quantum sensing at the ultimate limit platform, and quantum device & quantum chip processing center. We strive to make several "Nobel Prize-level" and "0 to 1" major original scientific discoveries in the field of quantum science, and develop core "root" technologies supporting the steady and long-term development of quantum computing.
Meanwhile, IQASZ is also dedicated to gathering and uniting the superior quantum technology forces in the Guangdong-Hong Kong-Macao Greater Bay Area, actively participating in promoting Shenzhen's "20+8" industrial cluster action plan for strategic emerging industries in quantum information technology, and building the "Quantum Valley" in Hetao Shenzhen-Hong Kong Science and Technology Innovation Cooperation Zone. We have taken the lead in establishing innovative institutions such as the "Guangdong-Hong Kong-Macao Greater Bay Area Joint Laboratory for Quantum Science and Engineering" and the "Shenzhen Quantum Information Society", contributing Shenzhen's strength to achieving independent control in quantum technology in China.
In recent years, IQASZ has witnessed a continuous stream of innovative scientific research achievements. We have successively achieved a series of high-level research outcomes, with over 160 domestic and international patent applications and more than 1700 high-quality academic papers published. These publications include 15 papers in Nature, 154 papers in Physical Review Letters/X, 3 papers in Advance in Mathematics, and over 450 papers in the Physical Review (A/B/C/D series), among others. IQASZ has made significant scientific breakthroughs and technological innovations in quantum error correction, quantum computing, and core equipment development.
