Research Direction: Rare earth-doped optical functional materials, solid-state quantum storage, quantum communication, quantum computing

Personal Biography

Dr. Shuping Liu conducts research in solid-state quantum memory, quantum communication, and quantum computing, with a particular focus on rare-earth–doped photonic materials and their high-resolution spectroscopic characterization and coherent control. In recent years, she has participated in the EU H2020 programme, as well as several major national projects in China, including the National Natural Science Foundation’s Key Program, General Program and the Ministry of Science and Technology’s 2030 Major Program. She has extensive theoretical and experimental experience in the preparation of rare-earth–doped optical functional materials and devices, microstructure engineering, high-resolution coherent spectroscopy, and solid-state quantum memory. To date, she has published more than 30 research papers in journals such as ACS Nano, Nano Letters, Nature Communications, and Advanced Optical Materials; authorized three Chinese invention patents; and has given more than 20 oral or invited presentations at domestic and international conferences. She also serves as a reviewer for several international journals including Journal of the American Ceramic Society and Optical Materials Express. She has led projects funded by the National Natural Science Foundation and the Guangdong Provincial Natural Science Foundation.
