On December 27th, the closing defense and exchange meeting of the 2nd phase of the "Quantum Talents Climbing Program" of Shenzhen International Quantum Academy in 2024 was successfully held in Lecture Hall 518. Ten students from universities such as Xi'an Jiaotong University, Sun Yat-sen University, Beijing Normal University, and Imperial College London (UK) participated in the closing defense. The closing defense committee consisted of 5 expert judges including He Yu, Xu Yuan, Guo Weijie, Li Zengchao, and Zhang Song. The event was organized by the Talent Cultivation Office.

Researcher He Yu presided over this defense exchange meeting. He pointed out that in recent years, competition in the international science and technology field, especially in the field of quantum technology, has become increasingly fierce. Only by making a good "first move" and seizing the commanding heights of science and technology can we win the initiative in the competition of comprehensive national strength. He encouraged all students to fully understand the importance of quantum technology in the national strategy and strive to grow into future talents in quantum technology with profound feelings for the country, a broad international vision and outstanding innovative capabilities.

Subsequently, ten students including Zuo Xueyang, Zhou Yuanxi, Jiang Heng, Lü Zhehao, Pan Jiarui, Wang Guanqi, Zhang Xiangpeng, Zhu Peilin, Ou Jingyu, and Zhao Yunxiao took turns to report on the project content, work achievements, and the use of funds, among other aspects. The expert judges provided targeted comments and suggestions.

Based on the scoring results of the final defense committee, six students, namely Jiang Heng, Ou Jingyu, Zhang Xiangpeng, Zhu Peilin, Wang Guanqi, and Pan Jiarui, were finally awarded the Excellent Projects of the second phase of the 2024 Quantum Talents Climbing Program.
